Output

Convert between game ticks, seconds, redstone ticks and minutes, with the common cycles listed alongside. The easy mistake is redstone: it updates every 2 game ticks, so one redstone tick is 2 game ticks, or 0.1 seconds. Treat a game tick as a redstone tick and every redstone period doubles. Common cycles are included too: 1 second is 20 ticks, and one game day is 24000 ticks, or 20 minutes.

Features

  • Game ticks, seconds, redstone ticks and minutes
  • ⚠️ 1 redstone tick = 2 game ticks = 0.1 s
  • The common cycles (1 second, 1 minute, 1 game day)
  • 1 game day = 24000 ticks = 20 real minutes
  • Both the input and output units are selectable
  • Several values at once, one per line

How to use

  1. Pick the input unit (ticks, seconds, redstone ticks or minutes)
  2. Type one number per line
  3. All four units and the common cycles appear
  4. Narrow the output to a single unit if you want

FAQ

How do redstone ticks differ from game ticks?
One redstone tick is 2 game ticks. Redstone components only update every 2 game ticks, so a redstone tick is 0.1 seconds. Treating a game tick as a redstone tick doubles every repeater setting and pulse length.
How many ticks in a game day?
24000 game ticks, which is 20 real minutes. Daytime is about 10 minutes, night about 7, and the rest is sunrise and sunset.
How many ticks in a minute?
1 minute is 20 × 60 = 1200 game ticks, or 600 redstone ticks.
