Output

Convert between § codes, & codes, hexadecimal and JSON text components. Two things to keep straight: `§` (U+00A7) is what vanilla accepts, while `&` is only turned into `§` inside a plugin escape context. And hexadecimal has two unrelated spellings — the per-digit `§x§5§5§F§F§5§5` for signs and command blocks, and the JSON `{"color":"#55FF55"}` for `/tellraw`. Input accepts `§a`, `&a`, `a`, `#55FF55`, `green`, or a format code such as `§l`.

FAQ

What is the difference between § and &?
`§` (U+00A7) is the colour prefix vanilla understands. `&` is a plugin and command convention: a server plugin rewrites `&a` into `§a` before sending text to the client. In a vanilla sign, `&a` is just two ordinary characters.
Why are there two hexadecimal spellings?
The per-digit `§x§5§5§F§F§5§5` goes in sign and command-block text (vanilla 1.16+ understands it, and one missing `§` silently breaks it). The JSON `{"color":"#55FF55"}` goes in `/tellraw`, `/title` and book JSON. They are unrelated, so each is given correctly.
What are §l, §o and the like?
They are format codes that change the typeface, not the colour: `§l` bold, `§o` italic, `§n` underline, `§m` strikethrough, `§k` obfuscated, `§r` resets all formatting. They stack, but `§r` clears everything before it.
