FAQ

Why does the Chinese mode not use random characters?

Random Chinese characters read as garbled text. When you are judging font size, line height and where lines break, that noise pulls attention to the content instead of the layout. The Chinese mode therefore uses neutral, readable sentences with deliberately varied lengths.

Why does the first paragraph always start with Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet?

That is the canonical opening of the classic passage, and it is useful: anyone glancing at the page immediately knows this is placeholder copy rather than text that was never replaced. Later paragraphs are drawn at random from the Latin word list.

When should I use English instead of Latin?

Use English sentences when you need to judge how real English copy wraps and how long it runs. Use Latin when you want readers to ignore the content completely and look only at the layout. Trying both on the same page is often worth it.

Is the generated text free to use?

Yes. Lorem ipsum derives from a passage by Cicero and has long been in the public domain, and the English and Chinese sentences were written for this tool and can be used freely.
